The Wailer from Beyond

Oh the horror! This illustration is of a semi-corporeal ghost-like undead creature for Call of Cthulhu role-playing game setting. Sometimes intrepid investigators need to enter shunned or abandoned locations – such as derelict mental institutions waiting for their own demise – in hopes of securing some obscure tidbit of information. Sometimes the locations are not that abandoned after all.

Unspeakable Horror!

A creature illustration for Call of Cthulhu role-playing game setting.

An area named Valley of the White Stone just south of Arkham City is justly shunned by locals. The locals know that the wooded patches of the valley are home to unspeakable horrors that appear and disappear perhaps guided by the stars themselves. The woods are quiet and remote for years on end until something triggers the appearance of hideous tentacled monsters seemingly bursting through ground from hell itself.

The locals are wise enough not to build anything – not even wells for agricultural use – near the haunted spots. They avoid the locations based on ancestral knowledge. A traveler from Arkham can’t even get a guide to these locations even if the creatures have been seen last over a decade ago.

Armored Corpse

Cresia is ancient. The lands are dotted with abandoned cities, castles, ruins and temples. Some of them are loaded with forgotten untold riches that are only hinted about in tall tales and legends. Seekers of fame and fortune are bound to look for them but not many have the fortitude to withstand not only the search itself but also the dangerous traps and guardians the sites have.

Arkham Horror / Mansions of Madness investigators

Well. Arkham Horror is the long time favorite game of mine and my active group of players. It’s the “go-to” game when the novelty factor from various other games wears thin. Luckily the investigator figures from Mansions of Madness can be used in Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, Elder Sign and of course Mansions of Madness, so painting the investigators seems like a wise move.

Here’s a group shot of investigators finished so far:

A batch of new True Revilers painted up

Here’s a batch of new True Revilers miniatures painted up.

True Reviler Terminators
True Reviler Terminators. I got a group o 10 terminators. All of them are built from left over pieces found in a bits box. I built 10 and plan to deep strike them using a homer beacon available to scout sergeants. All terminators are magnetized (feet for basing and hands for weapon choice variety).
First two scouts - a sniper and sergeant with a missile launcher. I plan to have at least 2 sniper scout teams.

I posed the bike in such a way that only one tire touches the ground.

The marine driver is removable although I don't think it fits anywhere else. Backpack is magnetized so it can be switched to other backpacks.

The front small dozer blade was a left over piece ... comes from the Ramshackle Games' wide range of pieces if I recall correctly.

I plan two squads of 5 bikes having one assault bike each. This way I can take the bike squads as troops choices when using a HQ character riding a bike.
