When the game was published I eagerly acquired it all the expansions that come through the years. At first my group of players adopted the game and we spent a number of fun hours with it. But at times we encountered balancing issues and as some scenarios of campaign games proved nigh impossible to win either as players or as the Overlord, interest in the game waned. I still kept buying the new content and we did some efforts to rekindle the game. When FFG pulled the plug on the game, deleted their scenarios and other content from their web site and relaunched the game with yet another edition, we shrugged and moved on. We immediately understood that FFG had no intention to allow the earlier edition stuff to be used in the new edition. The company had changed from the earlier days’ games-for-gamers -attitude towards we-just-want-your-money -attitude after they were bought out by Asmodee. Descent hasn’t been touched since. I did, however, do some painting in the early days of the game.
