Count Cory Cormagh

Name: Count Cory Cormagh
Race: Human
Location: Cormael, Inhal Org, Akron

A long-time ruler of the county of Inhal Org in Akron. Count Cormagh is a competent and fearsome warrior standing at a formidable height of 190 centimeters and sporting a hefty weight of over 120 kilograms. He is the eldest of current counts in Akron. The count handles most of the county’s affairs himself up to and including dealing with the numerous bandits and brigand warbands harassing the trade routes between Akron, Calishem and Ferria. The three countries are at a peace, but the border areas are notoriously unsafe for various reasons. The lake district south of Cormael is particularly active and houses at least two dozen groups of pirates and bandits – each with dozens of members.

Count Cormagh has grown a wisdom unusual for warrior types and is widely considered a very intelligent and a deeply thoughtful man with profound insight into how the world works and how one could alter it’s workings. His rule is just and even and his lifestyle is respected by his subordinates as he is more alike a common man than a noble man. He prefers asceticism over grandeur and discipline over excess. He drinks and plays jovial games with the common working men in taverns frequented by commoners and he offers a helping hand to build a new shed for local farmers if the situation presents itself. All this does not mean that he somehow loathes his nobility. On the contrary he considers the prime principle of his rule to better understand the obstacles and difficulties the common man encounters in their day to day life.

A competent and fearsome warrior, Count Cormagh never backs down from a confrontation. He personally trains his best men as he believes that he can’t survive if he can’t trust on the skills of those who are supposed to protect him.

Count Roberto Romano

Name: Count Roberto Romano
Race: human
Location: Wywold, Akron

A stern and iron-handed ruler, Count Romano is actually from Ferria making him the the only foreign-born count in Akron. The county is named Wywold and the seat of power is located in the city of Wywold which is the only population center of note in the entire county. While a small county, count Romano is still to be taken seriously as he is as ruthless as he is cunning. Also, he has a number of powerful allies in Ferria and through some of them Roberto has been able to import superior blades, shields and armor with which his personal troops have been armed. It’s unclear how the high-end weapons have been paid since due to their price Ferrian weapons are usually only available to wealthy nobles and merchants.

While Wywold is not that important due to it’s small size and low population, it’s hundreds of small fishing villages are a major source of food for the entire kingdom.  Dried and smoked fish from Wywold is exported to all around the kingdom – and to neighboring countries even – and is both a nutritious and abundant food, it’s also considered a delicacy. Many fishing villages are proud of their techniques in preparing the fish and many villages have their own unique signature methods. Like the mildly sweet cold-smoked sole fishes of the Heienwold village that are considered a pricey delicacy both in Calishem and Ferria alike.

Married to: Lady Melia Sur-Romano

Count Uran Ronvar

Name: Count Uran Ronvar
Race: dwarf
Location: Gorge, Gorgehold, Akron

Uran is the leader of Clan Ronvar and also the count of Gorgehold covering a good 15% of the whole kingdom including the cities of GorgePatas and Medon. All of which have mountains in close proximity and several dwarven clans. Most of the dwarven population in Akron is centered in Gorgehold and while the overall numbers are tiny compared to humans in the kingdom, at least in the city of Gorge dwarves are in the majority.

Uran Ronvar used to be a miner himself born of a clan of successful  iron ore miners. Ronvar, however, struck gold – so to speak – a century earlier when he took control of the clan’s affairs are cut of all the middlemen from trading. He created an infrastructure chain that encompasses land acquisition, mining operations, purification of the raw ore, production of iron ingots, production of steel ingots and steady trading routes to Ferria and Calishem alike. It took decades to establish all this, but once there, the Ronvar clan started accumulating wealth and power. Uran Ronvar directed his clan towards strict quality standards and steady supply and in essence managed to create a still lasting reputation of quality and stability to his clan’s work. Now all the finest and most expensive weapons and armor in the world are made of Ronvar steel.

Uran took control of Gorgehold 20 years ago after a bloody confrontation between three rivaling clans each trying to become the top dog in Gorgehold. Ronvars emerged as the winner and in the process annihilated – to the last man – the now extinct clan of Gorgebear. Akron’s other counties and the king accepted Uran Ronvar and while the violence was at times nearing civil war level, they were reluctant to take sides in knowing that dwarven clans neverever forget who takes which side! The years after that tumultuos time have been kind to all residents of the county  and Uran has made it abundantly clear that he shares the wealth of the county to each and every one that co-operates with his clan’s ambitions. Not much resistance exists now and Gorgehold under Uran Ronvar’s rule is a peaceful and wealthy county.

Count Amergon

Name: Count Julius Amergon
Race: Human
Location: Crolle, Akron

Count Amergon is the count of Avontir – one of the counties of The Kingdom of Akron. His seat of power is located at the port city of Crolle on the south coast of Cybor Bay. Count Amergon is a relaxed and flexible person. He is a competent swordsman and generally a hands-on guy. The count is usually rather casual and conducts business very informally and without the bells and whistles his position as a count would grant him. He spends a lot of his time travelling both his county and the kingdom in general. Count Amergon is generally seen as a just and fair ruler and he is well liked by both his subordinates and henchmen. He keeps his hands dirty by participating in the day-to-day operations of ruling the county – often neglecting the demands of other nobles and the importance of good relations between the leaders of the land.

He is often accompanied by a Lord Cayheil – a trusted knight with whom Julius shares a friendship.
